Derek McCammon - Which Last Days?

The Pledge of Alliegience.  The recent terrorist attack on America has resulted in a national surge of patriotism and pride in the American Flag.  The pledge of Allegience to America’s Flag was established in 1892, which happened to be on the 400 year anniversary of Columbus’ expedition.  In 1954 the words “under God” were added by then President Dwight D. Eisenhower who said "In this way we are reaffirming the transcendence of reigious faith in America's heritage and future; in this way we shall constantly strengthen those spiritual weapons which forever will be our country's most powerful resource in peace and war."  The lesson on 10-07 studies the Pledge of Alliegence in relation to the Word of God and how God established the nations and civil government.  Is America under God?      Click here to listen to the lesson now.

Acts Period timing of the Corinthian Letters.  Paul’s missionary journeys provide us a chronological road map to much of the Acts Period epistles.  Paul was used by God to write 14 of the New Testament books.  The first seven were written during the Acts Period, while the last seven (Eph, Phil, Col, 1 & 2 Tim, Titus, & Philemon) were written after Acts.  1 & 2 Corinthians were part of the first seven.  Understanding when books of the Bible are written is very important for the proper interpretation of scripture and an important principle for right division.  The lesson on 10-14 helps you pinpoint when 1 & 2 Corinthians was written as well as the subject matter in context in relation to Israel.  A map was used during the lesson, click here to download the map in PDF format. Three important topics were being discussed during this timeframe in Acts: 1) the New Covenant, 2) Resurrection, and 3) False Apostles.    Click here to listen to the lesson of the week.

The Last Days.  Why is modern day society focused on calling here and now the “Last Days”? Christian teaching is focused on mapping recent terrorist tragedies into Biblical events that indicate the “Last Days”.  It’s interesting to note that throughout history, many catastrophic events were associated with “Last Days” enthusiasm.   The majority of Christian ministries are always trying to figure out the “Last Times” which includes end times events like the rapture, the tribulation, the millenium.  Just like the Apostles who asked the questions: When shall these things be?  What is the sign of thy coming? When is the end of the world?.  The events spoken of in Daniel and Revelation give no hint about the time in which we live during the dispensation of The Mystery.   The lesson on 10-21 is part one of a two part series on “Last Days” teaching.      Click here to listen now.

Which Last Days?  There are many “days” mentioned in scripture.  It takes a workman to study and sort each reference and determine what applies to whom and when.  The “Last Days” are mentioned in several passages, Genesis 49:1-2 being the first.  As you will find, there are two primary sets of “Last Days”.  The references in 1 & 2 Timothy apply to us today as members of the Body of Christ which is the church.  All other references to The “Last Days” pertain to Israel and the restoration of their Nation.  Involved with their restoration is a resurrection, judgement, and a heavenly blessing here on Earth.  Many Bible teachers take scripture and prophecy that pertains exclusivly to Israel.  Make no mistake, the Last Days pertaining to Israel will happen in the order that God declared in the scriptures.  The lesson on 10-28 is part two of a series on The “Last Days” and teaches on the specific attributes of The “Last Days” in relation to Israel.      Click here to listen now or go to the audio listing for October.
