The Trinity - Part 4.

All Truth - Part 1. In Colossians 4:12 (KJV), the Apostle Paul tells us “Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.”  The idea of perfection here is not being perfect but being like a ripe piece of fruit.  However, why does Epaphras pray that another saint to be complete?  This prayer demonstrates that there is a difference between salvation and calling.  When we become saved we become a saint, however there is a maturing process that has to occur in the Christians life that comes from studying the word of God.  Paul talks about this concept in Ephesians 5::2-17 (KJV) that we are to “walk in love”, “walk as children of light:”, and “walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise”.  Finally, verse 17 tells us “Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.”  The lesson on January 25, 2004 begins a series of lessons based on the book “All Truth” written by J. Eustice Mills.  It begins to study how scripture and truth in scripture is revealed progressively It’s very important to understand how scripture is divided and truth is revealed.  Christians often think of this as the King James divisions between the Old Testament and the New Testament.  However , God has different divisions in scripture based on time (chronologically) and calling (a targeted  message or body of truth e .g. direct mail).   Another example of progressive revelation is in John 16:12 (KJV) where Jesus told his Apostles “I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.”  Even after Christ had been resurrected, he tells the Apostles that everything they need to know is based in scripture Luke 24:44-45 (KJV) “And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,”  No new revelation here.      Click here to listen now.
