Right Division

Clifford McLain taught many years at Northside Bible Church.
Listen to Pastor McLain summarize why it’s imparative you study the Word of God, rightly divided.

The pamplet Right Division contains two articles, the Dispensational Frontier by Charles Welch, and The More Excellent Way, by Clifford McLain. These two articles demonstrate the principle of “right division” found in 2 Timothy 2:15. Read more here...

Be sure and visit the Chart section to review the large dispensational chart for an overview of the ages.

Right Division Explained

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.  2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

This verse means that one should earnestly endeavor, strive with all his might, to be approved unto God (not to his fellowmen).  This will involve study as we think of it, too.  For one cannot be approved unless he has learned the will of God.  That only can be learned from the Word of God. Read more here...

The Correct Handling of Scripture. How should Scripture be interpreted? There are almost as many views of this as there are interpreters. The Scriptures can be made to prove almost anything. Particular passages have been used, for example, to support slavery and apartheid, and also the doctrines and teachings of strange religious cults and sects. Learn more here...

Audio Lessons on Right Division. Here are several audio studies on Right Division. One series highlights Miles Coverdale, who gave us the first English translation of the Bible. Miles had in the leaflet of his Bible several tips on studying scripture, rightly divided. Click here for a listing of the audio lessons on Right Division.

Right Division in Practice. Oscar M. Baker, of the Truth for Today Ministries, wrote a series of papers on Right Division in Practice. There are 25 lessons in this series! Read them all here. The first article in the series Right Division in Practice #1  begins here.
